 The moment you join the Government of Canada (Service Canada) as a term or indeterminate employee, congrats—you’re officially part of a union! 🎉 

 You can log in to the PSAC member portal and check the local field.

You can join by signing a membership card! Simply visit https://psacunion.ca/sign-membership-card and complete the form using your personal email address. If you encounter any difficulties, don’t hesitate to reach out to us for assistance—we're here to help!

• Your employer is the "Treasury Board" 
• Your department/agency is the "Department of Employment and Social Development Canada"
• Your local is 569
• All other information is personal, so be sure to provide details you know
• Remember to use your personal email address to keep your union business separate from your employer
• Once you submit the form, you receive an email asking to sign the agreement
• Sign the agreement, then you will receive the PDF file of your form
• Please email that  PDF to info@ceiulocal569.com

Union dues primarily fund essential activities, including negotiating and maintaining collective agreements, providing member services like grievance handling and legal support, supporting organizing efforts and outreach, covering administrative costs, and offering training and educational programs for members. These contributions enable the union to effectively represent and advocate for its members, ensuring workplace protections and promoting collective interests in the labor market.

When you face a grievance, the union is here to support you every step of the way. They offer guidance on your rights under the collective agreement, assist in gathering evidence, and represent you in discussions with your employer. The union's primary aim is to resolve the issue fairly while upholding your rights and maintaining workplace standards. Union representatives are equipped to negotiate directly with management, file formal grievances when necessary, and advocate on your behalf throughout the entire grievance process, striving for a satisfactory resolution.

Step 1 - Log into your PSAC account and check if your local is 569, if your local does not say 569 then proceed to Step 2

Step 2 - If you haven't filled out the membership card, please fill it out. The instructions are above under the questions 'How to become a part of Local 569?' and 'How to fill out the union membership card?'
